Keyser High School recently selected Allegany Media as their partner to livestream home games for free to parents, siblings, grandparents, and the community at no cost. Through generous sponsorships, we were able to cover all 5 home games broadcasted on Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo. The games are also available to watch on our Roku and Amazon Firestick Apps after the event has ended on demand.
Not Just Another Sports Livestream
Coming out of the gate for our first year of live football coverage, we wanted to incorporate new technologies in our stream. We provided a state of the art stream using custom graphics software to playout innovative touchdown graphics, scoreboard, and on-field updates. We were pleased to offer instant replay and two cameras to cover the action. We use our knowledge in color grading to ensure that the livestream doesn’t look like it belongs on VHS by paying attention to the minor details.
Livestreaming Works!
While other may make it difficult to find the game or put it behind a paywall, our strategy was to put the games where people want to watch. We livestreamed to Facebook, YouTube, and AlleganyMedia.com/Keyser. We had tremendous viewership to the games on these platforms hitting over 126,000 minutes watched. This was great exposure for the student-athletes and our sponsors. They finally have real statistics on how well the games performed. You simply can’t get these metrics from other media forms like radio.
